Christmas 2009 and beyond

After a cracking weekend for B's retirement/birthday with only one or two cancellations because of the weather the Marsh household decended on the Lightfoot residence for Christmas. Caroline and Stephen did us proud.
Stephen and David decided on a flyer to France on 2 January for a few days to get one or two jobs done, including some painting. Looking forward to that.
Off to friends tonight for a quiet new year party and they are returning to us tomorrow for a new year late lunch party......then it's alcho free for a while.
Happy New Year to you all

Pictures from B's birthday lunch which was a real success, just sorry the weather beat M and D. That apart, the Castle Hotel in Lincoln did us proud.
Looking foward to a continuation today when the celebrations are at home. Hope the snow keeps away and doesn't cause too many cancellations.

This n That

Good job I'm retired, not had a minute to myself this week. Lincoln Christmas Market was busy, busy, busy last night. Hannah's school Christmas fete today, won a bottle of water, a bottle of coke and a lolipop, well, there's 3 Christmas presents!!

Got the visas for Australia today, it's getting closer but I'm starting to get nervous about jumping off the Auckland Sky Tower!

Cheltenham

Enjoyed a very alcoholic weekend in Cheltenham with about 14 others to celebrate a stag 'do'. Went racing Saturday and lost my hearing aid (thankfully found and handed in), but not my shirt!

Cousin not feeling too well so sadly Scotland is off the menu for this week.

Ugh! Work

Invigilating today and yesterday......my, what a boring job. Still, expect it'll pay for a starter at a Michelin restaurant in Tokyo!

Off to Scotland next week to see cousin. Hope I'll be able to replace my Stenhousemuir beanie hat, which I've lost.

Autumn in France

Just arrived back from la Belle France where the trees are all turning and the wine flowed richly!

Weather was wonderful with most afternoons in excess of 20*

We walked a lot round the village and picked up kindling for the fire, exciting eh?

And now, Monday, it's washing, cleaning, ironing, tidying etc., etc.

Only 34 more days till B's retirement!
